And even if the information is displayed on the screen, it is extremely easy to paste into other programs for analysis. I’ve always done that with the iStat Pro dashboard widget from Bjango (former iSlayer), but last night I decided to upgrade to iStat Menus 3. Not only does it provide valuable information, but it also does so in a very user-friendly manner. The simplicity of the interface belies the detailed information it provides, and the advanced features make it easy to use for both webmasters and online marketers. The istat software for Mac is a great example of Yahoo! Internet services' ability to provide tools for the web developers and marketers who need to keep track of the various aspects of their website usage. In addition, they can also be filtered to only show certain categories, or to show the information in different ways such as month-by-month, day-per-day or yearly averages. The statistics can be customized by adding the columns desired by the user. Some of the statistics that are displayed are not only useful for web developers, but for marketing managers as well. The tool can be run in the background when not in use and provides detailed information about the web usage of the Mac computer system. With istat pro, Joonas has created a very robust tool that will allow any Mac user to easily track all of their web statistics. Joonas is well known for his ability to create technically sophisticated and visually attractive widgets and applications for use on the Mac environment. This software is designed by Joonas Regalis, a technical fellow at Yahoo! Internet Solutions, and was released in late 2021 by his employer, Hewlett Packard. The fan speeds appear to be fairly similar, but differ by maybe 100 rpm, which is kind of round off error when fan speeds typically ran from about 2000 rpm when idling or doing very low intensive stuff (like typing this response) up to about 6000 rpm when doing intensive things that require max cooling.A new addition to the widely popular web analytics applications is the istat software for Mac. Just that switch can sometimes cause temperatures to change. It is also tough because I need to switch from a "regular" desktop view where iStat Menus is visible to the Dashboard where iStat Pro is visible. At a glance you can check your CPU & RAM usage, available hard drive space, network status & speeds, internal temperatures, fan speed, battery levels, current processes, and more all with a great, elegantly designed interface. The "CPU Core X" temperatures are all 6 to 10 deg C higher in iStat Menus than what is shown for "CPU Heatsink" in iStat Pro.Īnd then there are several temperatures for the GPU, a couple for the battery, a couple for the SSD, and a number of miscellaneous others in iStat Menu. The ultimate widget to get an overview of everything that’s going on with your Mac. There is also a "Air Flow Proximity" iStat Menu that is pretty much the closest temperature to what iStat Pro shows for "CPU Heatsink". Of all those, none are closer than about 5 deg C to what iStat Pro lists (closets is CPU Proximity). There is no similar label in iStat Menus.there is "CPU Core 1", "CPU Core 2", "CPU Core 3", "CPU Core 4" (I have a quad core CPU), "CPU PECI Die", "CPU Proximity", and "CPU System Agent Core". It is kind of hard to tell as they use different naming for the temperature locations.įor example, in iStat Pro, the only "CPU temperature" listed for the Mac I am typing this on is "CPU Heatsink". Is there a big difference in the stats? Not really worth downloading even if free if it's massively off.
